How to visually make your bathroom bigger?

If you live in an older apartment or house, you are probably overwhelmed by a square bathroom and the feeling that you are stuck in the two or three square meters. Because of architectural peculiarities, it is impossible to optimize the room by construction. But there are some trick to make your bathroom feel bigger.
Discover our tips!

1. Go for white

It is well known that white is the ideal color to enlarge the space. So it will be perfect for your small bathroom: don't hesitate to apply it from floor to ceiling. You can also add colors but they must clear, soft and pastel.

If you opt for large ceramic tiles

The use of large ceramic tiles, will make your room look larger. For a most successful result, choose pale and bright colors!

Terrazzo a good solution

From the floor to the walls, the large terrazzo squares will create an effect of length and height in your small bathroom. In addition to being resistant, they will add a lot of cachet to your decor. Choose lighter shades, like ceramic tiles, rather than darker ones. Small or large patterns, let yourself be charmed!

Tips: Ideally, don't use more than 2 different colors of paint in your bathroom. Prefer light colors, white paint can be beautiful in a bathroom. As a general rule, paint the walls with a lighter shade than the floor and the ceiling with the same or lighter shade than the walls.

2. Illuminate the bathroom wisely

Discreet lighting, integrated into the furniture, walls or ceiling will be suitable for the small bathroom.
If your bathroom has one or more windows, use natural light to your advantage. Your mirror, if strategically placed, will diffuse the light from the windows into the darkest corners. If there are no windows, opt for powerful lighting to make the room bright.

3. Install a large mirror

The mirror is the essential accessory of a small bathroom. By reflecting the room, it allows you to enlarge it visually. XXL mirror, panoramic, opposite: do not hesitate to install several of them. They will be real allies to enlarge the room.

They can be integrated into the furniture.

4. Choose furniture with pure shapes

The furniture in your bathroom should have flowing and discreet lines so as not to clutter up the space.

5. Opt for a curtain or a transparent shower door

In a smaller bathroom, any trick to make it look bigger is welcome. For example, a shower with an opaque curtain can reduce the desired effect of size. Instead, opt for a glass door or a transparent shower curtain to give the impression that there is more space in your room.

6. Choose compact furniture that offers optimized storage

They are most suitable for small bathrooms.

7. On the floor, avoid visible demarcations

Opt for a smooth and clear floor by using waxed concrete for example. If you are installing tile, choose a large tile model. Warm parquet also works, but remember to lay the thin and large strips lengthwise to lengthen the room.

8. Favorise a pocket door

The pocket door is an ideal solution for a tight bathroom .When moving in a bathroom, priority is given to a door that runs along the wall.
